Diet is important in running.
💡 there are two definitions of "diet" that are conflated. First, we have the types of food one is eating. Second, we have the quantities of food one is eating. "Diet" is often used to refer specifically to either, or their combination.
Some people say "the secret to losing weight is diet and exercise". They are wrong. When one exercises more, one is driven to eat.
How else can the RAGBRAI food stalls be explained? They are wonderful when one has done 30 miles on the bike already and has 30 more miles to go. But, as a pedestrian, I find the food options are over-priced and mediocre quality.

The foot pain continues. It is concentrated in the arch of my left foot. There are several theories:
It could be residual, from when I kicked the side of my left foot into the corner of the car door ten days ago.
It could be from the blisters I got on Saturday, when running in wet conditions with the wrong socks and shoes.
It could be from running yesterday with different shoes, which might also be 错.
💡 it is certain that the second theory (it being related to the blisters) is incorrect. But, it is a theory.
The checklist for pain:
Does it stop when you stop running?
Does it stop when you sit down?
Is it fatigue-related?
✨ This is a course in running. For a course in general fitness, one could recommend a week on the training bike. But one of the specifics of running is taking care of one's feet. We will return to that theme later.
If it is the lingering soreness of a bruise, I can 忘记了 and move on.
🔥 If it is related to the shoes, I can buy different shoes.
